Dear AKF Ambassador,
As the nation continues to confront the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, the American Kidney Fund is continuing our efforts to ensure kidney patients get the help they need during this unprecedented public health and economic crisis.
We could not do that without the help and dedication of AKF Ambassadors like you, who take the time to advocate for people impacted by kidney disease—your efforts have never been more important than they are right now! We hope you and your family are remaining safe and well.

Take action on coronavirus issues
Here are two quick and easy ways you can take action on critical issues related to the coronavirus pandemic:
Urge your members of Congress to ensure ESRD patients have access to needed transplants right now. Even though the Centers for Medicare and Medical Services (CMS) stated that transplants are essential and should not be postponed, there have been many stories of kidney transplants being canceled or postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and living donor transplants have essentially stopped. Hospitals and transplant centers need to be fully equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE), ventilators and staff. Any kidney transplant that has been delayed or postponed because of the pandemic needs to be prioritized after the crisis is over.
Ask your U.S. Senators to support bill S. 3571, the "Banking for All Act," to ensure everyone can access their stimulus money now. This legislation would let consumers who do not have bank accounts to set up "FedAccounts" at local banks and post offices. Account holders would receive debit cards, online account access, automatic bill pay, mobile banking and ATM access at post offices. FedAccounts would not be subject to fees or minimum or maximum balances and would be managed by the Federal Reserve.
